Here is my card for this weeks color challenge. The colors are: Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry & Basic Black. It uses the stamp set from the April promotion -Awash With Flowers and the Simply Thanks individual stamp. I really like using white ink on a black background for that chalkboard look.
Speaking of chalkboard (how did you like that segway!) One of the things I like about Decor Elements is that you can purchase a full sheet & cut it into what shapes you need or leave it whole. We've been trying to make little changes around the house to be a little more conscious of going green. One of the things we've changed is our shopping list. We used to have scraps of paper all over the fridge for things we ran out of. I purchased the chalk board sheet and just stuck it to the side of the fridge.
I used the Taffy Alphabet stamp set & white staz-on for the title and as you can see, it gets quite a bit of use! It's quick & easy - even for the kids & when the items are purchased we just wipe them off. You can wipe off all the chalk with a damp cloth and it looks brand new!
I also cut up a sheet using the top note sizzix die and put those on some containers in my pantry. Originally we tried to use the chalk on those too, but it kept getting smeared. Trust me - mixing up your flour & bisquick is not a good thing! So with these, I also stamped the names with the white staz-on. I like the fact that when the containers need to be washed, I can just peel off the labels & put them back on when they are dry.
Thanks for stopping by!
