Here is a card I made from the SCS tutorial on Acetate Cards. Instead of stamping on the acetate, I wanted to try out a new Cuttlebug embossing folder I picked up the other day. It is really difficult to take a photo of acetate! I used the stamp set Eat Cake, Apricot, Rose & White grosgrain ribbon and Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Apricot Appeal and Whisper White card stock. I saw some samples of frayed ribbon on SCS and thought that would add a nice festive touch.
Things will be a little crazy for another few weeks. So please continue to bear with me.
Did you watch HSM 2? We did ( I think I'm up to the 4th time) We had to mark it on the calendar and count down the days. AJ pretended he was too cool to admit that he watched it, until my nephew Ian said he watched it. I think the frogs even sing along - the kids have played it so much! Yes, the frogs are still alive - although I am really getting sick of the escaping crickets! I swear they purposely sit outside my bedroom door & chirp just to tease me.
We have 10 days and counting until Dani's wedding! We got to play dress up the other day and worked on make up & hair ideas. My mother's house is starting to look like a bridal store with all the dresses stored there. Rachael is being quite the little diva ( at times does not look like she is only 9) & AJ had his tux fitting - he looks so handsome. It's one of those "my babies are growing up" moments. My b-i-l's mom is coming in from Canada next week and then the rest of our family starts to arrive. I'm still working on engraving the favors and I get the honor of engraving the toasting glasses for the happy couple.
Gymnastics is done for the summer although we will start back up when school starts. Rachael is still tackling piano lessons. She started with a new teacher over the summer & is having a lot of fun with it. She is doing an awesome job with Amazing Grace, but I will have a difficult time watching the Wizard of Oz. There is just some note that just doesn't sit well with me with the song "We're off to see the Wizard". My brother, Tommy, took guitar lessons way back when and was learning the song "Smoke on the Water" - to this day, I can't stand that song. The opening chords just haunt me!
We are still at football 4 nights a week. I'm re-learning the rules of football (come on, it's been quite a few years since high school!) Yes, I enjoy watching it on TV, but I don't pay attention to the little details. So, during the first scrimmage game, he sacked the quarterback 4 times. Then the other team assigned 2 linemen to cover him. I thought that was a bit unfair, but my husband begs to differ. AJ is still working on getting in better shape, so we are trying to jog every morning. (It ain't pretty!) My husband gets to work on skills with him... I get jogging. Who got the bum end of this deal!
I can't believe school will be starting in 2 weeks! I have to say that I am looking forward to it! Also, once September arrives I will start to get swaps ready for the Stampin' Up! Regional Convention in Philadelphia! I am very excited about going & getting all sorts of great ideas to share with you!
Well, if you are still reading this - I appreciate you listening to me babble. Sorry there is only 1 card to share. Will try to post more over the weekend! The boys will be off to a Boy Scout activity, so I think Rachael & I will have some stamping time! Thanks for listening to me babble - again!
How sick is this my son did not watch HSM2, but I did. It was actually cute.
