Wow, it has been forever since I last posted. My apologies! Finals are this week and I will finally have time to play again - at least until September!
I took a break from studying and finished up a digital page for my son's scouting scrapbook. His troop held their annual Iron Chef competition - just like the tv show! It was a lot of fun. He was on the appetizer section & they made nachos. All the boys put a lot of hard work into it. Unfortunately, we have to wait until the June meeting to find out who won - torture!
The design is the Celebrations Digital Kit. The chef hats were created with the Big Bold Birthday stamp - 1 each in white & black and the small oval punch also in white & black. Made the white one a little smaller and layered it onto the black so it had an outline. The layout is cased from Sweet Shoppe Designs.

I just love the My Digital Studio program - if you haven't guessed that from other posts! One of the points I like is that you can use it with other programs. I have a Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Designer Program from years ago and the MDS images and digital accents can be added to projects I make in that. Stampin' Up! is constantly adding new images monthly! Plus they just added a catalog of all the MDS designs, paper and accents!
Check out the new catalog with all the MDS images!

Also, they have a blog set up just for MDS creations! Check it out My Digital Studio!

Out of all the sports, football is my favorite! I guess it helps to like it especially when we spend 4 months a year involved in it with my son! With the superbowl coming up (bummer that the Jets didn't make it) I've decided to share some football scrapbook pages with you.
This 1st one is from a quick trip we took to Texas for a family wedding. After the wedding, we drove to Dallas to catch a Dallas Cowboys game. They were playing the Giants! So we lucked out and got to see our overall favorite team - Cowboys and see one of our local teams too! The game was going great until Romo broke his collar bone & then it went downhill - the Giants won.
This digital kit is called 1st & 10 and is from a non SU! company.
The second layout is of my son and his team. This year his team not only made it to the playoffs, they won the championship for their division! What a great season! I can honestly say there was not 1 player on the whole team that did not give it his all. One of the dad's from the team introduced us to the song "Boys of Fall" by Kenny Chesney. I'm not into country music, but that song just hit the mark. Instead of journaling, I used the lyrics to the song on the page.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing our football memories!

Its so hard to believe that my son & his fellow cub scouts will be graduating up to boy scouts in February! I remember when they signed up as Tigers! It is amazing all that they have learned and experienced in this short time. I am trying to finish his scrapbook in time for their Blue & Gold Dinner. Here are some pages that are ready to be sent of to the printer. (no the blurred parts are not smudges on your screen - they are for posting purposes only)
the background DSP is from the Christmas Jingle kit; the digital stamps are from Old Saint Nick - which is included with the My Digital Studio kit
My hubby volunteered to be Santa & then he volunteered my daughter to be his elf for a Caroling event at a local Senior's Residence. The cubscouts go every year and perform for the residents.
the background was created by inserting a photo box, enlarging it to 12 x 12 and then sending it to the back of the project.
the 2 amusement park pages uses the Play Date DSP & Accent Kit
non Stampin' Up! digital supplies

With all the craziness this year, getting our cards made up was postponed to the last minute. We took a photo of the kids back in Oct when we went to a family wedding that we wanted to use, but I couldn't find a design that I liked to go with the photo. Thanks to a card we received from my aunt & uncle - we found the inspiration!
I love that My Digital Studio has the pre-made cards - just add your photo & you're good to go! We based our card on the Icicle Digital Photocard - the only problem was that it didn't go with our colors. Thanks to the ease of My Digital Studio, we created our own with some background papers and the Serene Snowflakes Stamp Brush set - our card was done!
I never would have thought to go with black for a Christmas card, but we received the one from my aunt & uncle & it was beautiful! The black & riding hood red went great with their clothes, while the snowflakes still gave it a fun feel. Unfortunately, they didn't get mailed out before Christmas, but I guess you can't have everything!

Thank you all for all your comments! Per request, here are the directions for putting these together. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Now, this is how I put it together, the original directions are in the Sept. issue of Creating Keepsakes.
Cut a piece of yellow cardstock into a 4 1/2" x 3 1/2" piece. Cut one of the 3 1/2" ends with the scallop edge punch. (scallop edged craft scissors also work well) Score lines in between each scallop.
Softly fold cardstock on score lines - just enough to give it curl. Add glue dots to the inside of scalloped end and a sticky strip to the side.
Pull out the little "hershey" flag & attach a kiss to the edge without sticky strip and roll over to make the pencil body
Add in the rest of the kisses (about 6) - this shows you how I alternate them to fit more. Then roll up and seal
For the eraser:
cut a 1" x 3 1/2" piece of cajun craze cardstock and score at 3/8". On the smaller side, cut out pieces to make it easier to curl.
Punch out 2 - 1"- circles out of cajun craze. Put adhesive on 1 circle and attach above strip, gluing the little triangles to the circle. Adhere 2nd circle to the top.
Slide on the open end of the pencil. ( I added a little glue dot, to keep it from sliding off, but not enough to deter opening it)
Cut a 3/8" x 3 1/2" piece of silver cardstock, run through crimper and wrap around the pencil, right under the eraser.
Add a little gift tag & there you go!

Have you seen the Sept issue of Creating Keepsakes yet? We found this adorable project in it & thought it would make a cute little "Thank You" for my daughter's summer tutor as well as a nice little -welcome back to school- for their teachers on the first day of school
There are about 7 hershey kisses wrapped up to make the pencil base & I made it so the eraser slides on & off to get the candy. The original project used a pkg of rolos with a kiss on the end.
cardstock: Summer Sun, Really Rust (both retired colors), Silver
Ink: Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Early Espresso
Stamp set: First Day, Short & Sweet
Accessories: red gingham ribbon, XL Decorative Label Punch (Holiday Mini - available 9/1), 1" circle punch, decorative edge scissor (local craft store)
Thanks for stopping by!
